Philly-Area Students Gave Their A Beloved Bus Driver a SUPER Surprise!

Gary Kelmer is a beloved bus driver in southern New Jersey, and he is about to go on the ride of his life.

Mr. Gary, as the students who ride the bus know him, has been driving for Mount Laurel schools for decades, and over the years he has become a legend in the community and for young students. The bus driver is also widely known to be a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

So when the Eagles advanced to the 2018 Super Bowl, a group of Mount Laurel residents decided to surprise Mr. Gary with the trip of a lifetime: tickets to the game and personalized jerseys for him and his wife! (Hers says "Mrs. Gary" on the back.)

The fundraising group, which collected more than $5,000 in just 5 days, was led by Amy Smith. Of Mr. Gary, Amy says that "he just goes over and beyond. He's so kind, he's a wonderful person, he does so much for the community." Beyond the daily kindness that he shows students, Mr. Gary also organizes an annual fishing trip for kids in his school district.

"The only thing Gary loves more than fishing is the Philadelphia Eagles!" says Mount Laurel School District Superintendent George Rafferty.

Mr. Gary got his surprise at the last stop of the day, where more than 60 people gathered to present him with their gifts of gratitude. SO sweet!
