How Actor Gary Sinise Has Been Supporting Our Troops For 20+ Years

You may recognize the actor Gary Sinise from his role in Forrest Gump: Lieutenant Dan, who fought alongside Forrest in Vietnam—and later reunited with him as a disabled veteran. It was his experience in the role of Lt. Dan that inspired Gary to get involved with helping military veterans who became disabled as a result of their service. That was back in the 1990s; since then, Gary has committed even more time to supporting current and former military service people. He's gone on several tours with the USO, meeting with and performing for active troops.

In this HooplaHa Original, filmed on a base in in Yuma, Arizona, watch as the actor and his band light up the stage with a cover of "All Night Long" and hear from the man himself about why he travels with the USO, how he think he's helping, and what meeting with service people and their families means to him. We're so happy to have captured these moments and talked with this actor on a mission.

To watch more videos about military heroism, visit the HooplaHa Facebook page or our YouTube Channel... and don't forget to smile!
